Probably go with a cheaper version next time. I dont think I would buy this again. I bought this becuase of the hype.Clean power equals better picture and sound. Sales guys say it does make a difference--real world answer for me at least is that I could not differentiate between my cheapie $15 surge protector and this Monster Cable PowerCenter.
Will be sending it back and hopefully a replacement will perform better. It seems like a nice product, but when I plug it in, there is a high pitched buzzing noise. It is quite loud.
I do not see any but really have not experienced that before. The pros: Color coded and labeled outlets, plenty of plug spots, high rated joule protectionThe cons: The blue power light is pretty bright (like a night light), You can't plug in "power pack" plugsOne complaint to "Cable Companies" is they say you can't run the cable into a surge protector because it interferes with the updates and communication between their computer and the box. One thing the company says is it regulates power so there is no flicker on the TV. Like 40% cheaper.
I can't tell the difference with some of them but I figured with a new plasma, why take the chance of ruining a $2k item. That is probably what really sold me on this one. To me, a power strip is a power strip.
It was much cheaper getting it from here than your local stores. So I do not care about their box so I just run everything going "out" of the box through the surge protector instead of going into it. figured I would get something rated for more joule surge protection.
I like the way they have everything pre-labeled so you know which cord is which.
I now feel like I don't need to tweak it anymore. I bought this on Amazon for 1/3 the MSRP but the improvement in picture and sound after moving all my home entertainment plugs from a surge protector to this was so great to be worth full price or more. I am very happy with this picture.
We noticed the noise when it was super quiet in the house. It's a great product. We will buy it again in the future. But does not disturb us. Just a little note.it makes a very slight humming noise when it is on. Nothing that you would hear normally.
